TRADEN is proud to have been a major supporter of the SOKS (Save Our Kids from Suicide) fundraiser campaign that has generated a donation of $22,000 to help continue to provide important youth suicide prevention and education programs in the community.

“We’re very proud to have played our part in generating some very important funds for a very important cause,” said TRADEN Founder, Adam Rose.

“We thank everyone who got on board and supported the cause and it’s an absolute pleasure to be able to hand over another $22,000 to SOKS to help with the fantastic work they continue to do in our community.”

The campaign included a fundraiser raffle with some great prizes including a Harley-Davidson® Street Bob 114 Motorcycle as 1^st prize.

The raffle was drawn live at the Terrigal Trojans annual long lunch event, held at Terrigal Rugby Club on the NSW Central Coast on Friday 12^th April, where 1^st prize winner Michael Newton from Galaxy Group was in attendance and decided there and then that he’d donate the Harley back to the cause, which resulted in a live auction with 2 winning bidders in Andrew Baker from Baker Built and Iliya Adams from Custom Ceilings.

Traden Construction School has proudly handed over $11,230 raised from the 2022 Trojan Row event to Gosford Hospital for the purchase of important new medical equipment.

A new $10,000 ultrasound machine will be purchased for Gosford Hospital’s Vascular Access Team, which consists of specially trained clinicians who assess, insert and manage vascular access catheters such as Peripheral Venous Cannulas (PIV) and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC), also called a PICC line, so patients can receive intravenous fluids and medications.

The new wireless handheld ultrasound machine will assist the team with assessing vascular access to confirm the correct placement for the catheter insertion prior to the procedure. This is considered best practice standards for this procedure.

To date, the Vascular Access Team has had to borrow an ultrasound machine from the Intensive Care Unit. Now having their own machine will help to ensure care is delivered without delay.

Additional funds donated will also go towards the purchase of a new Sara Stedy (a non-powered device that ensures patients can be positioned from sit to stand transfers safely, quickly and with ease) for Gosford Hospital’s J9 / Orthopaedic Inpatient Unit.

By using the Sara Stedy, patients can remain mobile (with support), so they can complete their daily tasks such as toileting, dressing and transfers.

With encouraged movement provided by the Sara Stedy, patients can experience accelerated recovery of their mobility.

Having a Sara Stedy available avoids the use of mechanical lifters for patients, which helps to maintain their dignity.

The Trojan Row is back for 2022 and this time, the 24 hour charity row will be raising funds for important and very-much-needed new priority medical equipment for Gosford Hospital to continue to provide essential community health services including coronary and intensive care, general medical, neurology, renal, geriatrics, general surgical, obstetrics, paediatric and emergency services.

Last year, we raised over $14,000 for awareness and prevention of youth suicide. This year, all funds raised will go directly towards the purchase of important medical equipment for Gosford Hospital.

Simply turn up at the event between 5pm Thursday 17 Nov to 5pm Friday 18 Nov 2022 at Impact Gym Erina (19 Chetwynd Road), jump on a rowing machine and start rowing for the cause!

There’ll be special guests and plenty of great community support for everyone to get involved throughout the 24 hours.

Several Manly Warringah Sea Eagles NRL players volunteered their time to participate in The Trojan Row fundraiser event at Impact Centre, Erina on the afternoon of Wednesday 24 November 2022 all to help support awareness and prevention of youth suicide.

Former Manly, NSW and Australian player, and now Traden Ambassador, Glenn Stewart, reached out to former teammate and current Manly five-eighth Kieran Foran, who then recruited teammates Jake Trbojevic, Tom Trbojevic, Lachlan Croker and Brad Parker to join them at the event.

Aware of the importance of the charity, the players were only too happy to take time out from their annual leave break to support the event through Traden, Terrigal Benevolent Committee, Lifeline and Beyond Blue.

Manly co-owner and Board Director Gary Wolman also joined the players in support of the charity with the Sea Eagles presenting a signed jersey to auction for the cause.

The challenge saw the Sea Eagles players join Terrigal Trojans players and the Central Coast community in a 24-hour rowing challenge that started at 6am on the Wednesday and continued non-stop through to 6am on the Thursday morning.

The event raised over $14,000 in total.
